What we teach

Servants of the Lord Ministries is an apostolic teaching and training ministry serving the body of Christ. It is our aim to help believers to develop a love relationship with God. The ministry's vision from the Lord is to reach those whose hearts are crying out to know God now. Some believe that only a few chosen people or those with high callings can hear God, but He desires fellowship with all of His children. Eternal life is much more than being born again. It is the privilege to know the Father and the Son personally and intimately (John 17:1-3).

Fellowship and Communion with God

The message of fellowship and communion with God is based on plain, simple scriptures. The revelation SOLM brings is on how to actually develop a relationship with God and why so many have lost the fellowship and communion with God they once had. Jesus paid the price for us to have fellowship with God by giving His own life. The Father and the Son did not remove the barrier between God and man, and then make it hard for us to get to know Him. Many seem to find it hard to know God because they are prone to "trying" to be Christians by walking in ways that seem right.

Common problems

Some have tried to get to know God by gaining a greater knowledge of the Bible, but having a knowledge of the scriptures does not provide eternal life. Those who have found themselves actually in God's presence usually spend their Christian lives "visiting" His presence occasionally rather than abiding there as Jesus commanded in John 15:1. Some get preoccupied with the blessings and gifts they can get from God, but this does not provide any lasting solutions either. Others have not found fellowship with God because they lack a pure motive or because they have not been willing to pay the price of mortifying their flesh and repenting of their sin.

The Cost of Walking with God

There is not much said about counting the cost to follow Christ as it is explained in Luke 14:26 and 27. This truth has often been portrayed as a negative part of the Gospel. Yet people are prepared to endure all kinds of trials and difficulties to have something in this life which will later be consumed by fire (1 Corinthians 15). To really get to know God, we must pay the cost to deal with the flesh and our lordship so that we can come into His presence and stay there. We need to deal with sin and make Him the functional Lord of our lives. If we do this, He will give us a peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:4-8). As we are reconciled to God, we can begin to know His heart and share our hearts with Him. In His presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11).

My Sheep Hear My Voice

We were meant to fellowship with the Lord and communicate with Him in His presence. Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life..." (John 10:27-28a). Many do not believe it is possible to hear God, but it is simple to do when you choose to trust him (which is simple faith) and you follow His instructions. There is a big difference between those who are merely born-again and those who know God personally and can communicate with Him. If we are unable to hear the Lord's voice, we cannot follow and obey Him. Many lean to their own understanding because they do not have the ability to hear His voice. Leaning to our own understanding is the very thing we should not do if we want God to direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). If we go on leaning to our own understanding after we have been saved, then we are no better than the world!

Dealing with the Carnal Nature

God said He would answer all those who call on the name of the Lord. The Israelites called on God when they were in trouble, but they returned to their own ways when He delivered them from their problems. Many of God's children can testify to hearing God's voice at a time of crisis or difficulty. However, talking to God about big decisions alone and only when things get tough is not the basis of a relationship. Jesus died so that we could walk with Him daily and be led by His Spirit.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ

If Jesus is not the functional Lord of our lives each day, there will be no real change in our Christian walk. He knows what is best in every situation, but we have a free will and can choose to make selfish decisions from our carnality instead of asking Him what to do. He has the right by creation and redemption to be the literal Lord of our lives. Many call Him "Lord", but only those who do His will shall enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 7:21). We are told at conversion that He is our Lord and Saviour, but many believers never enjoy the blessed relationship that comes when He is really in charge and giving them direction for their daily lives.

Fellowship with God

Nothing can separate us from the love of God, but sin and our lordship separate us from His conscious presence. Many have lost the joy of their salvation, and they do not know how to move back into God's presence. When we come before the Lord in repentance for our rebellious ways, He will manifest His love to us. The scripture says that the reason why there is no healing of our nation and many places are in desperate need for Revival is because of our wicked ways in the church not the world (2 Chronicles 7:14).

My Sheep Hear My Voice

As we actually make Him Lord of our lives, He will begin to speak to us and make His presence real in our lives. The foundational teaching of the ministry is outlined in Joseph's first book, My Sheep Hear My Voice. This book contains simple, practical instructions on how to have intimate fellowship with God, and it refers to over 300 clear scripture references.

John 17:1-3 Jesus lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, "€œFather, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
